Hunter is 18 Months!

Hard to believe that Hunter is 18 months old today!  Where has the time gone!  He has really blossomed over the past 3 months!  He has so much personality and spunk!  And he definitely has an opinion.

A few things about Hunter at 18 months:
  •  Goes to bed at 7:30 and wakes up around 6:30 and takes one 1 - 1.5 hour nap a day.
  •  Is a big eater.  He basically eats 3 large meals and 2 large snacks a day.  Not sure where he puts it all.  Still on the picky side but eats what he likes well.
  • Is talking up a storm.  Says Mommy, Daddy, HeeHee (Haley), doggie, cow, sheep, kitty, birdie, peas (please), all duh (all done), down, up, ball, book, bye bye, foo (food), hi, tin kee (stinky), shoe, chair, pho (phone), chee (cheese), sha sha (flashlight), da chum (vacuum), and he does a lot of grunting and pointing.  I think he pretty much understands what I'm saying most of the time too.
  • Loves to play with Haley.  Basically follows her around and they either play nicely or a fight breaks out.  He is a bit hitter and hair puller.  Not sure how to stop this.  We are doing time-outs but he doesn't seem to really understand them yet.
  • Turned his car seat around this weekend.  He was so squished rear facing.  He was so excited when he got in for the first time that he fell asleep!
  • Is a snuggler.  He likes to cuddle up sometimes and it is so sweet.
  • Is starting to show an interest in tv and will occasionally watch Little Einsteins.  He loves the music.
Not quite sure on his stats.  No 18 month doctor appointment scheduled at this time.  I am in the process of trying to convince our old Family Doctor to take us back.  And I'm not kidding on this.  Once I get him in, I'll post his stats.  He is wearing 12-18 month pants and 18-24 month shirts.

Hunter's 15 Month Stats

Hunter was 15 months old on December 19th.  He had his check-up on the 20th.  Here are his stats:

Weight:  24 lbs, 9 oz (~50th percentile)
Height:  31.5"  (~50th percentile)

Doctor said he was doing well!  He had a little fluid in one ear that the doctor wanted us to come back and have checked in a month.  Well, a few days later he developed a cold and then a double ear infection on Christmas Day.  Poor little guy.  I took him to the doctor again on December 26th and he got a prescription for his ears.  Seems to be all better now!  What a not so fun way to spend your Christmas break!

Gingerbread Cookies

Haley & Hunter received this Gingerbread Cookie Kit in their advent calendar today.  Unfortunately, Hunter had a to take a nap so he was unable to participate in decorating the pre-baked cookies.
These are the suggested decorations for the 8 cookies.  The kit came with fondant which I didn't realize.
Our 8 gingerbread cookies.  Note, I refused to roll out the fondant and then carefully use scissors to cut it all.  We improvised and just used our fingers.  Note each cookie here is in the spot corresponding to its match on the box.
Haley with all of her cookies.  She had so much fun and that is what matters.  She also had just finished off the remaining green fondant icing hence the green mouth.
The kit was purchased at Michael's for around $8-9 if anyone is interested in doing it too.  Note that the nutrition info states that each cookie with its share of icing has 450 calories.  Yikes!

Fall Fun!

Last Saturday we took the kids to The Woodlands Children's Festival at The Woodlands Pavilion.  There were lots of fun things for the kids to do including a train ride!  Haley thought it was great!
Barney even was there!

She loved Barney but thought it was too loud!  (And it was!)
Hunter enjoyed Barney too.  He was dancing most of the time!  He loves music!
Haley also LOVED the bumper boats!
Hunter is obsessed with playing peekaboo in all forms.  It is so fun!

Haley had the idea that she LOVED Hummus Cucumber Basil sandwiches.  Not sure where it came from.  She made several of them (as pictured on the table) and devoured them.
Ready for Monday Night Football!  Go Steelers!  Loves his wagon still!
Today was the Thanksgiving parties at school.  I was responsible for the feast in Haley's class.  I made turkey & cheese on a roll, macaroni & cheese, fruit salad, and corn as was suggested by the school.  Another mom provided a craft and the cutest turkey cupcakes!  Haley had so much fun and was so glad I was there.  I did not attend Hunter's party as he would not have let me leave without him!

Haley's craft for Thanksgiving!  So sweet!
Hunter's Thanksgiving craft.  Cute too!
The kids got their flu shots late this afternoon!  Afterwards we stopped at Chick-fil-a for dinner.  Haley was in heaven!  She had her first ice cream sundae and ate every bite!
Hunter on the other hand wants nothing to do with Chick-fil-a so I packed him a dinner.  Yummy!
