18 Months

Swimming today in her pool

Today Haley is 18 months old! Hard for me to believe that that it has been 18 months and at the same time that she was ever 6lbs 14oz. Haley is turning into such a little girl from all of her talking to her long hair. She is sweet, affectionate, silly, and such a blessing!

Today we went to the doctor for her 18 month check-up! The doctor said she is doing great and had no concerns. Her updated stats are:

Height: 33 inches (~80th percentile)
Weight: 23lbs, 13oz. (~45th percentile)
Weight for length: 25th percentile (tall & skinny)

Over the past month Haley has become quite the talker. I made a list today of all the words she says WITHOUT prompting and it totaled 82. Here it is: Haley, Mama, Dada, Julia, ball, toys, water, chair, puff, cheerio, corn, feta, blueberries, book, magazine, laundry, car, digger, dog, kitty, coffee, horse, mouse, giraffe, zebra, hippo, bird, frog, hop hop (as in bunny), woof woof, meow, moo, pigs (as in her toes), hair, eyes, nose, bellybutton, teeth, basement, jump, bounce, stroller, bib, diaper, paper, door, hockey, hat, jeans, sleep sack (says sleep), shoes, socks, sandals, rock, tub, bath, towel, poop, teetee, fart (thanks Steve for teaching this one!), up, down, Darcy, Otto (neighbors), wagon, bubbles, grass, flower, tree, leaf, slide, phone, boot, sippy, Elmo, doctor, ladder, and football. Some words require a translator, a.k.a. ME, but she is trying so hard. On top of these words, she is good at repeating what I say so I have to watch my mouth now.

Haley is really enjoying our new house and living on a cul-de-sac with 30+ kids. She LOVES to be outside and is so observant of all the big kids. She is not shy either as she is comfortable enough to help herself to all the toys in our neighbors yards and garages. It is quite comical!

Grandma & Grandpa Dibble Visit

My parents visited us from July 1 - 13 and Cool Aunt Julia was here from July 2 - 5 from Houston. We had a FABULOUS time with them! We played outside, read books, gave "cheers" many many times, went to the Farmer's Market, went to the Calgary Zoo, played in the sprinkler, played in Haley's new bouncer and pool (although it was too cold to add water), went for a hike at Lake Louise, went to dinner one night (& had a babysitter for Haley) and went for a few walks! And while Grandpa & Grandma were out at Emerald Lake Lodge for a few nights, the three of us went to the Calgary Stampede Parade with some friends who gave us tickets to the Ensign private party at the parade. It was tons of fun & Haley enjoyed the animals!
