Happy Halloween

Not loving having his picture taken

Ready for her school party

Her loot from the school party

So excited to go trick-or-treating
Happy Halloween!  At school today Haley had a Halloween party!  They did carnival type games in the morning, had Chick-fil-a for lunch, and then a class party after nap time!  Parents were invited to come to the party so Hunter and I went.  It was so fun to see her with all her little friends.  We did a pumpkin craft that focused on shapes (the learning theme for the past month), colored a mini-pumpkin, and decorated a cookie.  The teacher then read a Fall themed book.

Tonight Haley and I went trick-or-treating.  She was so excited to go but was so shy at the first few houses.  Then she warmed up and got excited for all of her treats!  After about 10 houses, she said she was ready to go home and show her treats to Daddy.  So sweet.  She enjoyed a few pieces of candy but choose sugary ones (Tootsie Roll, Twizzlers) and didn't like them.  Then she settled on a bag of Goldfish.  Ate them all.

Jack-o-lantern

The Pumpkin before.

Cleaning out the insides....yuck!

The finished product

Spooky

This afternoon we carved a pumpkin!  I don't think I've carved one since high school!  It was fun!  Steve & Haley bought several last weekend!  Today we picked out the best one for carving and dug in!  Haley was so excited until she saw the inside of it.  She kept saying it was yucky!  And then had a meltdown when my hands were covered in it.  She wanted me to wash my hands immediately.   I wiped them clean and she was ok knowing that it came off.  In the end, it was fun!  Enjoy!

Stay tuned for Halloween pictures!

Fussy Pants

So, I am on day 3 of Hunter screaming & crying all day.  He has taken 4-5 ~45 minute naps during the day.  When he wakes, he nurses, is calm for a few minutes, then the crying begins.  It is really hard and makes for a long day.  I feel sorry for Haley as it is hard to give her attention too.  She has managed to keep herself busy as you can see from the picture.

My Co-Pilot

Generally I think that baby clothes for girls are SO much cuter than boys, but here is a really cute outfit that Hunter got as a gift! It is a one piece pilot outfit.

Sleeping

Steve put Hunter down for a few minutes so he could put laundry away. When he returned, this is what he found. Sleeping.

Hunter - 1 Month Old (Post 2 of 2)

Hunter is 1 month old today! Time sure does fly! Things are going well!
A few things about Hunter:
  • Is a great eater! He nurses like a champ and is pretty quick too! He also gets one bottle per day and does well with it. (Mommy really, really wants him to like the bottle so she can have a break once a day! Haley never took a bottle. )
  • Is a great sleeper at night! I get one 6 hour stretch a night. He went 7 hours two nights ago. I'm hoping this trend continues and that soon he will sleep through the night. So far I watched the entire last season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey while nursing at night. Love my trashy tv at 3 or 4 am!
  • Is a pretty good napper! He will take one or two multi-hour nap per day! He isn't a fan of me putting him down in his crib awake as it leads to some fussing. I'm sure we will be sleep training come his 4 month birthday!
  • Is super sweet! He loves to be held and peek over your shoulder when holding him upright! His facial expressions are just starting and are so cute! He has smiled a few times and it just melts my heart!
  • Is big! I weighed myself holding him and then alone this morning. Keeping in mind that my scale rounds to the nearest 0.5lb, he weighed 11.5lbs. Big boy. He is filling out his 0-3 month clothes and will be in 3-6 month clothes soon!
  • Is loved by his big sister! Haley loves playing with him! It is so cute to see her lay under the play gym with him! She is so excited to see him when I pick her up from school! I only hope they become the best of friends!

Hunter's Newborn Photos (Post 1 of 2)

Hunter had his first photo shoot when he was 10 days old! We used Tiffany Parrot Photography who also did our family photos last Fall. She did a great job! Hunter was not the most cooperative but the photos turned out great! To view the photos, click here. The password is Hunter. Enjoy!
P.S. If I get 20 comments on the sneak peak photo, click here, I get a free 8x10. Please leave a quick comment!

Grandpa Tom & Grandma Sue

Grandpa Tom & Grandma Sue left today after a 6 day visit! It was so nice to have them here! Haley enjoyed all the extra attention! Grandpa Tom and her really utilized their crafty skills in doing lots of coloring! Grandma Sue really enjoyed lots of cuddles with Hunter!
We had my parents over too on Saturday night for dinner. Here are the two Grandmas enjoying a cosmopolitan!

Haley wore her Halloween gear to school on Monday! Love the shirt! Thanks Cousins for thinking of her!
Haley is still doing very well with Hunter! Not too much jealousy!

Bus Ride

This month at Haley's school they are learning about shapes. This week it is rectangles and circles. This past Monday the kids made a school bus craft and learned the song "The Wheels on the Bus." Then they got to ride around the large church parking lot in the church bus (seat belted in and not on the street) and sing the song. Haley had so much fun! Above is a picture of her class in front of the bus!

Doctor Appointment (Post 3 of 3)

Go Hokies!
Yesterday both kids had a doctor appointment. Haley got her 2nd Hepatitis B vaccination and a Flu shot. She was not too excited about that. Hunter had his second check-up and the doctor said he is doing great! He weighed 9lbs, 2oz (4oz above birth weight) and was 21.5in in length. He also got a heel prick for his second PKU test. Both Haley's shots and Hunter's heel prick happened back to back so I'm glad Grandpa came along as I had 2 screaming kids at the same time!

What We Have Been Up To (Post 2 of 3)

Grandma & Hunter hanging out!
Water fun!

Love my Elmo sprinkler!

Painting with water...thanks Austin, Adam & Andrew!

Grandma Dibble came to stay with us Monday - Thursday to help out! It was so nice to have her here. She and Haley had a great time being silly and Grandma got to hold Hunter lots! Grandma & I ran errands both days that Haley was in school and even had lunch at The Cheesecake Factory on Monday with Hunter. It was nice to get out! On Thursday Grandma helped out while Hunter had his first photo shoot! I'm not including any pics yet as I don't want to spoil his birth announcement! Thanks for all the help Grandma!

Birthday Party (Post 1 of 3)

Yea for presents!

Playing dollhouse with Aunt Julia
So much fun!
What Hunter did during the party....sleep!

Hey Uncle Ryan, check out my balloons!
Mmmmm....cake!

Sleepy boy!
Last Sunday we had a little birthday party for Steve (turned 33 on the 22nd) and Hunter. Grandma & Grandpa Dibble, Aunt Julia, & Uncle Ryan came over to help us celebrate. Grandpa cooked a ribeye rib roast with the trimmings and Grandma made a yummy chocolate cake!

Steve got lots of new shirts and some Steelers gear. Hunter got some clothes from Aunt Julia & Uncle Ryan and a stroller toy from Haley that she picked out. And Hunter gave Haley a new dollhouse for being such a great big sister.
