Conversation with herself

Today Haley was in her crib for "naptime." She is not napping daily, rather about 4 times a week now. The other days she entertains herself in her crib without sleeping, but has to stay in there for at least an hour.

Today this was the conversation she had with herself: "I'm crying like a baby. I don't have to wear diapers anymore because I'm a big kid. I'm a big kid, Doggie (the UT one Aunt Julia gave her) is a big kid. Isabelle (the 7 year old across the street) is at school. She is a big kid too. Henry (Isabelle's 5 year old brother) is at school. He is a big kid too. When I'm a big kid I can go to school. Doggie too. We love school buses Doggie." The conversation continued with much of the same.....napping did not actually happen.

(p.s. She is NOT potty trained. She has gone once in the potty. She is quoting a potty book she loves to have read to her.)

Swimming

I took Haley swimming on Monday for the first time in over a year. The last time we went she turned into a tomato due to her eczema flaring up. I just haven't had the guts to take her for fear it would happen again. We met Haley's friend Amelie and her Mom and had a fantastic time! She keeps talking about going again and taking Daddy!

On a side note, Haley asked to sit on the little potty and after about 45 minutes of sitting (not kidding) she jumped up and said she tooted. She then dripped a little pee on the floor but she actually peed in the potty. Of course we made a REALLY big deal out of it but she has not wanted to go again today.

Hello Elmo

We went to Costco this morning and when we got home, Haley grabbed her shopping cart and phone and went shopping too. She pushed her cart around while "talking" to Elmo on the phone. It was pretty cute!

Not much else going on here besides lousy, cold weather! We have had several days lately where it has not gotten above 0F. MISERABLE! Sorry for my lack of posts, I'll try to be better!
