Easter

The Easter Bunny found our house!

He brought silly glasses....

...and a toy football...

...and a book of mazes.

Finding eggs.

Easter dress.  Pretty girl.

Cousin Alex (3.5 months), Grandma, and Haley

Hunter (6.5 months), Grandpa, and Alex (3.5 months)
We had a really nice Easter this year!  Sunday morning we played with our Easter basket goodies, hunted for eggs, and went to Grandma & Grandpa Dibble's house.  Haley had so much fun this year!  She loved her Easter basket goodies (few "learning" workbooks, a game called "Mighty Mind" which is pretty fun & educational) and a some little goodies.)  She also loved hunting for eggs.

Sunday afternoon we headed over to my parent's house to celebrate Easter and the April birthdays.  My sister & family came too.  We celebrated my Mom's (12th), Brother-in-law Ryan's (13th), and Dad's (28th) birthdays.  (In April, my Brother (15th) and Sister-in-law (23rd) also celebrate birthdays.)  It was fun to see everyone, eat a yummy meal, and open presents.  Of course, everyone receive a little "help" opening their gifts from Haley.

Easter Party

Today was Haley's class Easter Party.  The party kicked off with Chick-fil-a for lunch (chicken nuggets, fresh fruit cup, and juice box).  Lately Haley has been all about chicken nuggets.  Never liked them before, but LOVES them now.  She was really excited for the lunch and I was a bit jealous that I didn't get any!

After lunch her class and two other two-year-old classes headed over to the Student Ministries building for the egg hunt.  (The weather didn't cooperate for an outdoor hunt.)  Basically the equivalent of about 300 eggs (10 eggs/student * 30 kids) were just spaced out all over the floor.  I think the whole hunt lasted 1-2 minutes.  Afterwards the kids looked at their bounty and ate popsicles.  Fun times.

Hunter enjoyed himself too in the Baby Bjorn!

Some of Haley's classmates (she is the 3rd from the right)

Ready to go....

It was a blur they were so fast

At home with her eggs and basket.  She wanted me to take her picture so she could show Daddy all her eggs.  Sweet.

What We Have Been Up To....

Haley and I planted 7 flats of begonias around the front 2 oak trees.  Plus some impatiens in the beds closer to the house.  Haley was able to utilize all of her gardening tools she received for Christmas and her birthday!

All the new plants require watering...

Future artist?

Bluebonnets are in bloom!

Tried to get Haley to pose for a picture.....

.....but this is the best I could get.  Hunter was strapped in the Baby Bjorn.

Playground fun!
And not to leave Hunter out on the fun, but he is usually either in the Baby Bjorn (so hard to take pictures of him) or napping when we are doing activites like watering and painting.

Hunter is 6 Months!

Hunter was 6 months old on March 19th!  (Yes, I am a bit late.)  Here are some updates on him:
  • Is the sweetest little thing ever!  He smiles most of the day!  And if I can't get him to smile, Haley always can!
  • He just loves his Mommy, Daddy and sister and is starting to express a bit of stranger danger.  This can be annoying when Grandma or the neighbor wants to hold him to give me a break and he doesn't cooperate.
  • He has become a better sleeper at night.  And by better I mean is now waking up between 6:00 and 6:45 a.m. (at least the last week) which is a significant improvement from the 5 a.m. for the prior two months.  I would like to take the credit for this, but it falls on Dr. Tony John.
  • He naps 2-3 times a day, usually two 75-90 minute naps and one 45 minute nap.  He is easy to put down too.  Just put him in his sleep sack, sing a song or two, turn on the mobile, and leave.  He is usually asleep within a few minutes and rarely fusses.
  • He is a big eater.  He nurses about 5 times a day plus has 3 meals.  For breakfast he eats whole milk plain yogurt with cereal mixed in and a fruit with a little cereal mixed in.  Lunch and dinner usually consists of a veggie, a fruit, and some baby cereal.  So far the only food he doesn't tolerate is peas.  He screams when I put them in his mouth.  I would say on average he eats one and a half 4oz. jar of veggies a day and two 4oz. jars of fruit.  I don't remember Haley having such a large appetite so young.
  • Still isn't much of a roller.  He has done it a few times each way (front to back, back to front) but just isn't interested in it.  I asked the Dr. about this and he said not to worry.
  • Is working on sitting on his own, but isn't that close.  He usually prefers to stand with assistance.  If you have him sitting with assistance it isn't long before he is trying to get to a standing position.

His 6 month stats (as of March 26) are:
  • Height:  27 1/4 inches (60th percentile)
  • Weight:  18lbs, 2oz  (65th percentile)

Here are some videos from a recent bath.  He LOVES to kick in the water!  We have put him in the tub a few times with Haley and he thinks that is pretty funny.
