Old Time Christmas Tree Farm (Post 2 of 3)

Haley loved the goats

The first weekend of December we went with Grandma & Grandpa Dibble to the Old Time Christmas Tree Farm which is about 20 minutes from our house!  It was such a fun time!  They had goats and cows to look at, a few kids rides, and lots of trees!

After we greeted the goats, we headed out to pick our tree.  They grow Leyland Cypress and Virginia Pine varities and also offered several other varities pre-cut (and imported.)  We settled on a Leyland Cypress as they looked nice and didn't have needles so no shedding mess.  However, we later discovered that Steve is alergic to it as he was super scratchy after handling it.

Catch-up (Post 1 of 3)

Haley and I made Banana Nut Muffins on morning while Hunter napped.  She is really into cooking these days, or at least stirring and making a mess.

Wow!  It has been a crazy busy past month!  So busy that I have been horrible about blogging!  Sorry Grandmas!  What have we been up to.....

We spent Thanksgiving at my parent's house!  They cooked a fabulous dinner and the kids had fun playing with everyone.  We also celebrated Aunt Julia's birthday (which was on the 26th).  Haley especially enjoyed singing "Happy Birthday" and helping Aunt Julia open her gifts.  I forgot my camera, but pictures can be seen on Aunt Julia's blog (click here).

My Mom, sister, and I went to a matinee performance of The Nutcracker.  It was beautiful and one of my favorite holiday performances.  And it was fun to see all the little girls dressed up in their fancy dresses.  (On a side note, it amazes me how many parents bring their small children to such an event.  Tickets aren't cheap and it is a long time to sit.)

Hunter had his 2 month check-up on November 28th (a bit late) and he is doing great!  He weighed in at 13lbs, 2oz (~75%) and 23.5" (~75%).  After 3 needle vaccination and one oral, we were done and told to come back at 4 months old!  Hunter is such a social boy!  He love to smile and coo at you, especially if he just finished eating.  And he is laughing too!  It is so sweet!

Other than that, just staying busy!  I recently joined a neighborhood Mom's group and have enjoyed getting to meet some other Moms in the area!  We even had a cookie exchange this past weekend which Steve and I have enjoyed all the different cookies!  Haley takes one bite of a cookie and says she doesn't like it.  Interesting....

Hunter is 2 months!!!

2 months old
Big smiles for Mommy!

Hunter was 2 months old on Saturday the 19th!  Boy times flies so much faster with the second kid!  He is such a sweetie!  Here are some things about Hunter in month 2:
  • He is SO big!  I'm guessing 13+ lbs.  (At 2 months, Haley was 11 lbs, 4 oz).  His has his 2 month check-up and immunizations on Monday.
  • 0-3 month clothes are pretty much too small.  Many things have been given to Aunt Julia for Baby Hummer and I have more to pass on!  The 2 month shirt he is wearing above was hard to get on!
  • Is a great sleeper at night!  He is sleeping from 8pm till 5 am most days and after nursing, he will sleep another 1-2 hours.  His naps are hit or miss.  Lately he has only been taking short naps (~45 minutes) and sometimes fights going down.  He really does not want to take the last nap of the day and sometimes just hangs out in his crib or fusses a bit!  Mommy really appreciates the fact that he is such a great sleeper at night!
  • Is so happy!  He loves to smile and have 'conversation' with you!  He coos right back at you when you talk to him!  He is always turning to watch where the action is!  It is so sweet!
  • Loves to be held.  He likes to be on his perch and if he is really fussy, Daddy is good at calming him down!
  • Loves his big sister and she loves him!  He watches her play and she loves to give "her little buddy" hugs and kisses!
  • Here is to a great 3rd month!

Steve is off this week from work and we are on day 2 of potty training with Haley.  She has resisted and resisted.  Refused to sit on potty and to put on underwear.  Well Saturday after her bath, she said she wanted to wear her Belle underwear.  She has worn underwear (w/ plastic cover while inside) all day Sunday and today.  We played outside most of the morning both days (temperature around 80F) so that helps with accidents.  She had 2 accidents yesterday and 2 today.  She has been eating lots of ice cream which is her reward of choice.  Here's to hoping this sticks!  Steve & I are so proud of her!

Haley wanted me to take her picture with Daddy & Hunter at dinner the other night!

Cheers!  Beautiful smile!

Naptime with Daddy!
